The focus was on agriculture and its impact on the Lawrence County economy when Farm Bureau visited the County Commission Feb. 1, 2017. They shared some impressive figures: "Ag, forestry and related industries support 3,536 jobs in Lawrence County. Additionally, these industries contribute $1 billion in sales, which translates to $243.5 million in added value to the area after $777.8 million worth of inputs are purchased. Of this $243.5 million, $138.9 million is comprised of labor income. Tax revenues generated ... are $46 million."
